I went to MoMA the other day to see the “50 Years of Helvetica” exhibit before it closed and found myself really enjoying the photography of Bernd Becher. His study of “Industrial Facades” from 1978-1992 was absolutely beautiful, with their composition of Gelatin silver prints side-by-side creating an overwhelming effect. It reminded me of one of my first projects in my college photography class where we were told to find and photo-study something “old”, and me and my roommate found a great, decrepit barn to use for the photoshoot.
Well, needless to say, Mr. Becher’s work put mine to shame. His detail and selection was wonderful. This guy could definitely shoot the broadside of a barn.
Sorry…bad joke.
